Sifats Ma’ani
Ma’ani comes from the word ma’na. In English, it stands for ‘meaning’ or ‘purpose’. Hearing is a purpose or meaning that comes out from the ear.
There are 7 sifats under this category: qudrah; iradah; ‘ilm; hayah; sama’; basor; kalam.
Each of the sifats is independently attributed to the being of Allah. They represent God’s power, will, knowledge, hearing, sight, and speech. They are ‘maujud fi zihin’ and ‘maujud fi kharij’ – perceptible to our intelligence, and perceptible to our senses.
Wallahu a'lam
